Bali is a place full of Hindu religion and culture. Offering is a treat for the gods and spirits of the ancestors that are believed to be present among Balinese people. The offering may come in various shapes, colors and content. They are set out and sprinkled with holy water no less then three times a day, before every meal This is the best gift giving – as a statement of gratitude to the gods, and persuade the demons in order not to disturb the harmony of life.
The offering you see nearly anywhere around is the small offering, while Balinese also have the special offering prepared for particular religious occasions. Given to higher spirits, these special offerings should be regulated in such a way as to attract, and of course this will requires a sacrifice of time and effort significantly. The leaves are cut and assembled in such a way as to be attractive forms. Various snacks shaped into thin plates and even become the dominant ingredient offerings that have strong symbolic meaning in addition to decorative functions. Therefore it can be said that the preparation of offerings is part of an important traditional art form that still applies in Bali.
