Head of the Provincial Tourism Office of Yogyakarta Special Region, Tazbir, said that rural tourism in DIY generally has unique characteristics, in addition to the natural that can not be found elsewhere in Indonesia. “With the potential to encourage the Ministry of Culture and Tourism seeks to increase the number of domestic and foreign tourists visit to Yogyakarta,” he said in Yogyakarta.
In fact, said Tazbir, DIY Tourism Office held a contest every year at the provincial level tourist village. “The event was part of the commitment and efforts continue to promote rural tourism in this province for an increasing number of independent and become the economic powerhouse of the local community,” he said. Thus, Tazbir hoped community welfare in rural tourism is also increasing.
He said some tourists who come to the DIY feel satisfied if it has not yet visited several tourist villages in this province amount of 65 villages. “The uniqueness offered by rural tourism in this region not only the natural potential of the beautiful scenery and cool, but also genuine community atmosphere is friendly and simple,” he said.

He said tourists who come to the DIY can enjoy several tourist villages, among them Kembangarum village, Turi district, village of Sambi, District Kaliurang Pakem in the region, and the Petingsari Village, Cangkringan subdistrict, Sleman regency.
